share some sunny flower love
there are miles of cornfields,
with stalks rising up to the sky.
We crest a hill and stop to see mountains fading to lavender in the distance,
trees lined up along a ridge,
and the clouds hanging low to skim the land.
Sometimes the days seem to stretch into an endless afternoon...
and before you know it, it's all a memory.
hot afternoons, the whirr and din of insects, sun pouring down like warm honey...
it's a time to slow down and observe the wildflowers that grow through the cracks...
or stop and think about playing a tune...
or just pick a bean from the garden and be silly. Happy August!
